Reiki

Originally from Japan (Rei means "Universe” or “spirit" and Ki "life force energy"), Reiki is a form of alternative healing technique where practitioners remove blockages and restore a free flow of energy in the patient’s body through palm healing.

Reiki is known to reduce stress, relieve pain, improve sleep and replenish energy levels.  It can reduce side effects of medication and assist with more rapid recovery from conventional medical treatments, such as surgery and chemotherapy.

A Reiki Session is completely safe to experience while pregnant.  In fact it is very beneficial for both the mother and unborn child.  Reiki is gentle, non-intrusive and extremely relaxing.

Some of the benefits of Reiki in Pregnancy include:

  • Relief of exhaustion and nausea
  • Pain relief for a stretching body
  • Relaxing and reviving thereby increasing energy levels
  • Improved sleep
  • Relief from indigestion as it relaxes the gastro-intestinal tract
  • Reduces worries and anxiety around the birth
  • Serves to increase the bond between mother and child

What do Reiki treatments feel like?

Every Reiki session is as unique as you are, perfectly delivering what you need in that moment.

How will I feel after the treatment?
Most people feel relaxed and at peace after a Reiki treatment. You may feel tired but equally you may feel full of energy. Reiki can also stir up emotions as part of the healing process and some people experience what is known as a healing reaction, such as headache or flu-like symptoms, which are normally of short duration. If you are concerned about a reaction to a treatment talk to your practitioner.
